The mission of the Resident Association of Greater Englewood is to create tangible solutions and mobilize residents and resources to restore our community.

Creating real change begins with the residents. As a neighborhood association, R.A.G.E. values the voices of the people who live here—our members shape our work, inform our programming, and drive our efforts to create a stronger, self-determined Englewood.

Englewood residents feel enraged—frustrated by how our community is portrayed in the media, yet filled with intense passion and pride for the neighborhood. We channel that energy into action, making positive change all the rage in Englewood. Where others see challenges, we see opportunities—to rebuild, reimagine, and restore our community through collective action and a shared vision.

In late 2010, a group of committed neighbors created R.A.G.E. as a platform for resident-led action and a force for transformation. What started with 13 residents has grown into a movement that amplifies the power of Englewood residents to reclaim our narrative, advocate for our needs, and build the future we deserve.

From pushing for transparency in city spending to reclaiming vacant land, R.A.G.E. has always been at the forefront of resident-driven solutions. We helped lay the groundwork for the $1 Large Lot Program piloted by the City of Chicago in 2014, mobilized neighbors to reimagine closed schools, and continue to hold decision-makers accountable to the people who call Englewood home.

Our members—homeowners, business owners, professionals, parents, and students—are fighting against the stereotypes that often stigmatize our neighborhood by showing the world what Englewood is truly about: resilience, creativity, and collective power.

R.A.G.E. is more than an organization—we are the voice of Englewood. We strategize, organize, and mobilize to address challenges head-on while fostering relationships between residents, public officials, and local businesses. For over a decade, R.A.G.E. has remained committed to uplifting Englewood. Through advocacy, resource-sharing, and direct action, we continue to prove that when residents take the lead, real progress follows. Where others see problems, we see opportunity.

Our work evolves alongside the needs of our community, but our mission remains the same: to connect, build, and take action for Greater Englewood.
