This Wednesday, the 16th Ward Englewood Grocery Store Taskforce Committee is holding an EMERGENCY community meeting at Kennedy King College, located at 740 W. 63rd St., from 6PM to 8PM on May 3rd.
This is an important step in providing Englewood with the quality grocer it deserves—and we hope you can make it and let your voice be heard!

The committee has invited Save A Lot CEO Leon Bergmann, Yellow Banana CEO, Joe Canfield, landlord/owner of the Englewood Square, Leon Walker of DL3 Realty, and others to join the meeting to hear the concerns of the community. The taskforce hopes that these individuals will be able to answer questions about how they can help make sure that everyone in Englewood has access to quality and affordable groceries.
We here at R.A.G.E. hopes this will give us an opportunity to work with other operators that value community voice and our choices. We hope to see many of our members, neighbors and supporters in attendance.
WHAT ARE THE CONCERNS OF THE COMMUNITY? THEIR IS AN ALDI STORE ABOUT 3 BLOCKS FROM THIS LOCATION. ARE THEY PROVIDING WHAT THE COMMUNITY NEEDS? THE COMMUNITY SHOUD NOT HAVE ALLOW WHOLE FOODS TO OPEN A STORE. THE PRICES WERE BEYOND WHAT PEOPLE COULD PAY AND WAS GOING TO FAIL THE DAY IT OPEN.
