As you know, over the last year, R.A.G.E.. along with its extraordinary Englewood-based partners IMAN., Teamwork Englewood, and E.G. Woode, have worked tirelessly to develop perhaps the most detailed, ambitious and thoroughly vetted plans in our history to facilitate a stunning new grassroots-led transformation of a critical intersection in the heart of Englewood. On Wednesday, August 26, in collaboration with the 16th Ward, we will be bringing together residents, partners, friends and our political allies in the parking lot of the closed Wood’s Academy from 4-6 PM, to celebrate this journey and its many accomplishments and milestones thus far. We would absolutely love to have you there with us. Please find the invitation below!

We named this initiative ‘Go Green On Racine’ (Go Green)and it includes three major catalytic developments and accompanying housing and transportation strategies that envision leading to the opening of a closed Green Line train stop on Racine Avenue. In December 2019, Go Green was selected as one of six ‘Chicago Prize’ finalists, a philanthropic challenge by the Pritzker Traubert Foundation (PTF), among 80 submissions from across Chicago. Although Go Green was not selected as the recipient for the 10 million dollar prize announced earlier this month, the team received confirmation of a $500K matching commitment from the PTF and remains fully committed to its vision. Recently, the Chicago Tribune published a powerful article about this vision and the meaning that it holds for Englewood’s residents and youth in particular. With Go Green’s first catalytic development, the Fresh Market, under construction and scheduled to open in Spring of 2021, the Go Green team is now mobilizing power and resources towards its second development, The Regenerator, which has already received significant funding commitments from private philanthropists, tremendous community buy-in, and the close attention of the Mayor.
