At the meeting, a free, delicious and healthy summer meal from local caterer San Justin’s Kitchen will be provided while members discuss the Englewood “Roll ‘N’ Peace” Community Bike Ride happening this Friday, July 13th and the “Rock the Wood,” pop-up block party on Saturday, July 14th, 10am-4pm, at 6600 South Hermitage Ave (see fliers below for details). Both events are community-led, peaceful responses to increased gun violence in Englewood within the 725 Police beat. The “Rock the Wood,’ block party is part of a citywide collaborative of eight organizations including Kids Off the Block, Fierce Over 40, and R.A.G.E. to decrease violence among youth during Chicago’s summer months by hosting peaceful events on the same date & time for maximum impact called Summer In The Streets. The Englewood “Roll ‘N’ Peace,” community bike ride done in partnership with the  Englewood Public Safety Task Force and PSTF member, Maurice “Phatal” Perkins’ organization, “Think Outside ‘Da Block.”

We hope that you have time to join us for one or all of the safe and peaceful activities in Englewood this week!
