#MemberMondays – Spotlight on Cherice Price

Cherice Price moved to the Englewood community at the young age of 5 years old and has been a devoted resident ever since. She began her educational journey at Perkins Bass Elementary School and went on to earn her diploma from Dunbar High School. Not too long after graduating high school, Cherice tied the knot with the love of her life and started a family. Despite being a busy mom, she still obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Robert Morris University and then went on to obtain a Master of Science Degree from Illinois Institute of Technology, Institute of Psychology.

As a Licensed Clinical Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Cherice practiced psychology in the for-profit arena for several years before venturing out into the world of entrepreneurship. Cherice currently runs an Independent Insurance Brokerage Company and a Workforce Development Consulting Firm where she assist individuals with securing their family’s assets; promoting financial wellness and assisting organizations with strengthening their Workforce Development Program.

She believes “communities are built on the backs of economic development and jobs. Without a focused approach to improving the individual and communal economies, there is no such thing as economic vitality.” Her passionate about lies in securing financial independence, while also promoting economic development and mental wellness.

185412_260268907320162_6759332_nCherice joined R.A.G.E. shortly after it’s inception and once served as the Vice President of the association. Recently, the Englewood Public Safety Task Force hosted a job fair on the block which successfully brought out over 300 people looking for employment. Cherice played a vital role in making the event a success by recruiting employers to come to the Greater Englewood community looking to hire Englewood residents.

Although she is an only child, Cherice is a proud mother of four children. She is also one of the founding members of Greater Englewood Community Development Corporation and is actively the Vice President of Education for the Greater Englewood Toastmasters speech and leadership club.

When she’s not hard at work, Cherice enjoys falling deep in the pages of a good motivational book, dancing to house music and spending time with family and friends.
