Support RAGE in the 2017 Strides for Peace Race Against Gun Violence

Posted: May 18, 2017 in Uncategorized

June is National Gun Violence Awareness month and R.A.G.E. is preparing to kick off the month by participating in the 4th Annual Strides for Peace Race Against Gun Violence on Thursday, June 1st. The event is held at Grant Park – Upper Hutchinson Field – 200 E. Balbo Drive starting at 5:30pm.

R.A.G.E. is very excited to represent Greater Englewood at this awesome event! The Stride for Peace Race Against Gun Violence was launched in 2014 to bring everyone — runners, business leaders, community organizations, law enforcement and youth– together to raise funds for and build awareness of community organizations that are making a difference across Chicago.

We would love for supporters of R.A.G.E. to join our team. There is a race and level for everyone! You can choose the Strides for Peace 8K or 5K Runs, 2 Mile Walk, or Tots for Peace Sprint (2-12 years old). If you can’t make it to Grant Park, you can register as a virtual runner and take strides in your neighborhood! You can register HERE. Be sure to select and join the R.A.G.E. team!

FYI: Registration closes on Wednesday, May 31st at 12:00pm. However, t-shirts may be limited if runners wait until May 31st or wait until Race day.

If you don’t want to walk or run, then please donate to our efforts. Registration fees and all donations will go to supporting our 2017 So Fresh Saturday series as we take over 7 Englewood parks in the name of peace! We want So Fresh Saturday to be bigger and better this year. You can help support the family festival by donating HERE.

Let’s show the world that despite the headlines, we can come together against gun violence and make a difference! Support R.A.G.E or join us in Chicago’s 2017 Race Against Gun Violence, help us make every stride count!
