RAGE Launches #MemberMondays – Spotlight on Tina Hammond!!!

Posted: May 1, 2017 in Uncategorized

There is no doubt that R.A.G.E. members are some of the most phenomenal people living in and connected to the Englewood community. That is why we are launching Member Mondays to tell the world about the amazing people that make up the Resident Association of Greater Englewood by featuring them on our website and social media networks using the hashtag #MemberMondays.

We are kicking off our #MemberMondays with the first spotlight shining on our fabulous
and current R.A.G.E. Member of the Year, Tina Hammond. She was selected as the 2016 awardee for her extraordinary commitment and dedicated involvement with R.A.G.E. and has been a member since 2013.

Tina is a family child care provider and owns Tina’s Treasures Childcare, a one-of-a-kind child care center – located in West Englewood – that prides itself on being a place “Where Children R Valued.”

Tina also provides to the community through the Large Lot she owns. She hopes to use the lot to promote healthy living and community love by hosting dance, healthy eating, yoga, and art activities. Another endeavor in which she is very proud is being a One Million Degrees mentor. Through this commitment she encourages her mentee at Kennedy King College to persevere on their journey to obtaining their degree.

It is common to see Tina and her loving husband Alvin Sr. outside their home cleaning up trash and cutting grass to beautify their block. The two have been married for 27 years. They have raised two children together, Briana and Alvin Jr, both graduates of Kennedy King College and Harold Washington College.

Tina lives by the quote, “If the only service you give is lip, you serve no purpose!” She definitely is more than talk and we are so grateful for the service she has poured into the Greater Englewood community for years.
