As you watch the nightly news, you will always hear about the crime and violence happening in Englewood, but we all know there are other stories happening in the community that do not make the headlines.  This is one of those stories. Englewood resident and student of Lindblom Math and Science Academy, Samaiya Butler, 18, will be joining nineteen African-American women from across the nation at Spelman College this fall as a Bonner Scholar due to her academic achievements and extensive background in community service in Englewood. As a Bonner Scholar she will receive a full ride scholarship for 4-years to attend Spelman College in Atlanta, GA…Join us in congratulating this rising star from Englewood!  See full story here.
