There are a lot of activities happening around Greater Englewood tomorrow that include a peace march, poetry set, CTA public meeting and more! Get off the block and network with other residents and make sure you spread the word to your neighbors, friends and family!!!
All of these activities are scheduled for Thursday, June 21st:
Peace March – 4pm-6pm – 70th Damen – In recognition for the 16 year old Harper Student who was recently killed in West Englewood.
Englewood Hot Spots – 6pm-8pm – Phoenix Diverse Holistic Collaborative 718 West 69th Street – This youth summer project is being managed by RAGE member, Michael Johnson and supported by RAGE Education/Youth Work group. The Hot Spots bring artists, activists, business leaders and community residents together to create art, dialogue, and share in healing. The hot spots are for the youth ages 8-17 and is a 10 week long summer program happening once a week on Thursdays from 6-8pm beginning on June 21st to August 26th. Spread the word!!
CTA Red Line Public Meeting -6pm-8pm – The Gym at Kennedy-King College, 6343 S. Halsted St. –The CTA has scheduled a second meeting regarding the red line renewal project that has many individuals upset about the closing of the red line stops next year. Let your voice be heard about this renewal project.
Breast Cancer Forum – 5:30pm-8:30pm – Great Hall – 740 W. 63rd St. – This is the official kick-off for the “Screen To Live” free Mammography Services Program in Englewood.
PEACE Center Poetry Set – 7pm-10pm – 6455 S. Peoria Ave. – RAGE member DJ Dap will be Djing at this fun-filled event! There is a $10 donation where proceeds will benefit the youth of the PEACE Center. 21+ over.
