South Side Community Federal Credit Union has begun a capital campaign to raise funds to help create jobs by making small business low interest rate loans available. SSCFCU is a not-for-profit federally chartered community development financial institution that offers a variety of non-traditional products and services carefully designed to alleviate poverty and economically empower the community.
Gregg Brown as Founder and CEO of South Side Community Federal Credit Union also serves on the Federation’s Board of Directors as Vice Chairman. Gregg brings 29 years of banking expertise and professionalism to the credit union movement. He has a passion for economically empowering low-income communities. His vision is to create a strong and healthy community economic infrastructure that can participate in the global marketplace. He is a Chicago native, born and raised on the South side where he now works. Brown is a graduate of Morehouse College and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Union Institute. He was named one of the Chicago Matters Global Visionaries, by Chicago Public Radio, WBEZ. Greg Brown’s leadership skills has grown the South Side Community FCU into an institution which serves nearly 1,700 members and has over 3.7 Million in assets.
