The Resident Association of Greater Englewood (RAGE) will host their 1st quarterly meeting
Topic: Greater Englewood TIF Districts
All six aldermen that serve Greater Englewood were invited to attend to provide residents with a update regarding the TIF funds in our neighborhoods!
These wards include:
3rd Ward- Ald. Pat Dowell
6th Ward- Ald. Roderick Sawyer
15th Ward-Ald. Toni Foulkes
16th Ward – Ald. Jo Ann Thompson
17th Ward – Ald. Latasha Thomas
20th Ward – Ald. Willie Cochran
RAGE asked all the candidates and incumbents running for alderman who serves the Greater Englewood neighborhood to meet with us on a quarterly basis and they all agreed! Let’s see how many of our elected officials will keep their word….RAGE wants to improve the physical appearance and economic viability of Greater Englewood which is defined as 55th & Garfield Blvd. on the north to 75st Street to Dan Ryan Expressway on the East and Hamilton Street on the West. We want to create a sustainable model for community-based administration of a TIF from the formation to completion. In order to accomplish these goals we are interested in joining or creating TIF advisory councils that consist of least 10 Englewood residents and stakeholders specifically for the Englewood Neighborhood TIF, 69th & Ashland, Englewood Mall, and the 67th & Wentworth TIF that was recently approved by City Council. During the update meeting we hope discuss to discuss existing or potential redevelopment contracts for the above mentioned TIF districts, allocation of funds for schools improvements, a satellite aldermanic office in Englewood that represents all six wards and current economic development strategies. We invite residents, stakeholder and community leaders to attend this very important meeting!
