*Free Film Screening: Soul Food Junkies
Soul Food Junkies won best documentary at the American Black Film Festival. It tells about the rich culinary tradition and its relevance to black cultural identity. Filmmaker and activist Byron Hurt produced the film because he was baffled by his dad’s unwillingness to change his traditional soul food diet in the face of a health crisis.
